Woke up in a windy tent. Trudged through the mud. Listened to “The Ten Commandments of Love” I drew in my book from the rotunda balcony of Saddam’s Palace as Admiral Michael Mullen handed out medals. Ben filmed the audience downstairs, Anthony filmed upstairs with me looking down. Sgt McCabe took notes and photos. Radio microphones were on so I was able to talk to both cameras. I commented about what the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff‘s was talking about while I drew. The changes in the middle east, leadership and realising potential, China. I led the story into the Art of War by Sun Tsu. Afterwards we all queued to meet him. He gave me a coin and signed my sketchbook page. There’s no rest for the wicked though. We finally are given the call that its clear to go. The skies are amber, the roads are clear. Lets do it.
