Operation Ark (Iraq) day 4

What is diplomacy? It is important to be trusting to be trusted. Respect and tolerance are the golden rules. We visit Saddam’s toilet today in Al-Faw palace and I turn on the golden taps to wash my hands. I don’t use the bidet as they are used to store the toilet rolls. Our team meets many from the US forces public affairs department. The colonel is very happy to meet us and facilitate within reason. Our objectives are clear. Each meeting is a re-affirmation of what Operation Arc hopes to achieve. We rest in a ridiculous throne gifted by the late leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organization to the last king of Iraq (above) There are many stories here with evidence in things, marks and rubble. But to start, we climb ‘top-side’ to overlook the city and the smoke. I smoke before commencing the largest drawing on site. Our guide, our Hiawatha, talks through the monuments of past failure. “ If I had a piece of pie and cut it up in equal share for us, I would have none left. But in my heart there is a an infinite supply of love from the well of the Universe “ A more straightforward account of today’s events is narrated by our team below.
